Picture Contest
OK, I will admit, the website seems a little bland. And to make it a little nicer, I am starting a contest. Anyone can enter, and here are the requirements.
- Must say “NerdsRule”
- Can not be focused towards one part of the website, most show all aspects
- Most be creative and original
- Most have one central idea
- Most be the users own work
The winner will have their picture posted on the front page of the website as the banner! The winner will also recieve a prize(to be determined). The size of the picture is also subject to change. No bigger than 1000×1000. Either way, the picture will be resized to suit the site. If you need the exact size, contact me. All entries will be featured in a special post, alongside the winner. However, their may not be a winner. If the NerdsRule admins deem all unworthy, we will try again another time. Good luck!
UPDATE: Apologies for misguiding information. This site does not support banners, therefore, we will have a special section to showcase the pictures. Good Luck!
PS – All entries are due no later than May 3rd. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Mac or Pc?
Mac sucks! User-friendly interface is a load of crap. PCs are just as “user-friendly” and are much better for most serious things. Macs are good when it comes to playing around on the computer. I wish my computer had photobooth and garageband but still, I’m fairly positive that it is possible to get similar programs on a PC. PC is a much better all-around computer and Windows has the best programs for office work. Mac knows it too. Why do you think that Apple has begun to let people put programs such as Word, Office, and Powerpoint on their computers? AppleWorks doesn’t compare to those programs would be an acceptable answer. Any way, I’d like to take a poll!

INDIAN NERDS – THE HOTTEST NEW NERD

Every nerd desires to be someone. Sometimes a jock. Sometimes a skater. But most of all, they aspire to be Indian. They are everywhere! Indians are the ones picking up your phone call when you are calling Dell. They are the ones who fix your computers, or satellite dish. Best of all, they are the ones doing your taxes. Let’s face it, we are the bomb. Now, indian nerds have another asset besides they’re mad mathematical skills, and computer saavyness. It is the fantastic indian accent. It can break tension in the most tense situations. So, my fellow nerds, pick up an Indian movie, and hopefully, you’ll be able to emulate they’re nerdiness.
Here is a video for your pleasure.
Hacking Democracy

This cautionary documentary exposes the vulnerability of computers – which count approximately 80% of America’s votes in county, state and federal elections – suggesting that if our votes aren’t safe, then our democracy isn’t safe either.
The documentary exposes the dangers of voting machines used during America’s mid term and presidential elections. Electronic voting machines count approximately 90% of America’s votes in county, state and federal elections. The technology is also increasingly being used across the world, including in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America. Filmed over three years this exposé follows the investigations of a team of citizen activists and hackers as they take on the electronic voting industry, targeting the Diebold corporation.
“Hacking Democracy” uncovers incendiary evidence from the trash cans of Texas to the ballot boxes of Ohio, exposing secrecy, votes in the trash, hackable software and election officials rigging the presidential recount.
Ultimately proving our votes can be stolen without a trace “Hacking Democracy” culminates in the famous ‘Hursti Hack’; a duel between the Diebold voting machines and a computer hacker from Finland – with America’s democracy at stake.
The two Ohio election staff who feature in “Hacking Democracy” were sentenced on March 13th 2007 for rigging the 2004 presidential recount. Incriminating footage from the documentary was used in their court case as evidence.

Neat Gadgets: #1
Neat Gadgets is a new weekly series that brings you the latest gadgets! From audio to visual, we’ll have it all!
This week I’d like to talk about the coolest clock out there. Every body knows about a sundial, but imagine one without the sun! This is exactly it. It is called the Bulbdial, and is made for indoor use. Instead of using the sun, it has mini lights that look like streetlamps, and a small page it the center of the clock face. The lights are programmed to turn as time progresses, which cause the clock to look like it has three hands. One ironic thing however is that it cannot work in sunlight! The sun will out shine the electric light. No word if this one is becoming a reality, but I personally think it is quite aesthetically pleasing.

Nerd Alert!
Ok, this is utterly amazing! After installing a new widget, that counts the people who are on the site at this exact minute, I decided to explore it a little. I found that it tells me where people who visit our site live. So no big deal right….WRONG! We are international! People visit us from England and other places. Congrats all!
